  Feeling is Believing

There’s no time like the present.

A good night’s rest can be crucial to ensuring that you
enjoy each new day to the fullest. It is precisely this goal that Jensen has been working to achieve for more than 60 years. The company’s ambition has always been to design beds, which provide the very best in sleep comfort. This objective is reflected in everything, from the mattress to the use of materials and design. To us a bed is a lot more than simply a place to rest your head.

There's no time like the present

More than Sixty years at the top.

Jensen was founded on 14 February 1947 and has been producing Jensen mattresses for more than half a century. The first six beds were made from horsehair and cotton wadding. Of course, a great deal has changed since then, but one thing has remained steadfast and true and that is the clear philosophy that our customers should be able to see and feel that the bed you are lying on is really a Jensen bed.

Major and minor discoveries

Jensen has made a significant impression on the bed market by taking small but determined steps forward, with our sights always set on a new objective. Jensen never compromise on quality and all our new ideas and construction methods are thoroughly thought out before we introduce them. One of the Jensen innovations is the hourglass pocket spring. Jensen has fulfilled its goal by designing a progressive hourglass-shaped pocketed spring, which gives not only a feeling of softness but also of robust support. It may sound contradictory, but our hourglass-shaped springs provide a unique feeling of comfort. The special hourglass shape of each spring and the fact that the coil is thermally treated to provide a memory achieves this effect. The result is a spring which is softer at the ends, whilst providing more and more resistance as it is compressed. This lets your body sink into the mattress to achieve perfect support, regardless of your shape or size.

 Jensen Major and Minor Discoveries

Jenson Original Zone system

In order to fulfil the very highest requirements for comfort, we decided to reassess the most important part of the mattress, namely the spring. With the help of physiotherapists, doctors, testing groups and others, Jensen gradually realised that a mattress with the same tension springs from top to toe distributes a person's body weight unequally and is therefore not conducive to optimal rest. Jensen achieved positive results by testing a mattress, which was divided according to varying degrees of firmness. This was the reason for the development of Jensen Original Zone System.

Support for the lower back and a soft zone for the shoulders are the key to a completely new sleeping experience. The principle on which the Jensen Original Zone System is based, is as obvious as it is natural. Most people are wider in the hip and shoulder areas and narrower around the waist. The task of the mattress is to support the body, therefore the division into zones provides more equal and comfortable support where the shoulders and hips sink deeper into the mattress and more robust support for the heavy waist and lower back. The effect is the same, no matter whether you sleep on your back or your side.

1. A hard mattress
The person's hips and shoulders do not sink into the mattress, as a result of which the waist and lower back are not supported.

2. A soft mattress
The person's body sinks too far into the mattress, as in a hammock. The spine is curved.

3. A perfect mattress
The mattress gives the body equal and comfortable support. The person's hips and shoulders sink in the mattress and the waist and lower back are thus perfectly supported.
